In a difficulty for Imperial Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in front of the Ladies’ Chief Association (WPL) 2024, star all-rounder Kanika Ahuja has been precluded because of injury. Ahuja’s nonattendance leaves a void in the group’s setup, introducing a test for skipper Smriti Mandhana and the RCB the board.

However, RCB has swiftly announced Shradda Pokharkar as Ahuja’s replacement to address this setback. Hailing from Maharashtra, Pokharkar brings her left-arm quick bowling ability to the group. The choice to sign her at a save cost of INR 10 lakhs mirrors the group’s trust in her capacities to contribute emphatically to RCB’s mission.

RCB is anxious to vindicate themselves in the WPL 2024 after a frustrating excursion in the past season. With a temperamental beginning and conflicting exhibitions, RCB neglected to come to the end of the season games in 2023. Mandhana and her not set in stone to turn their fortunes around, beginning with their initial match against UP Warriorz Ladies on February 24 at M. Chinnaswamy Arena, Bengaluru.

RCB-W’s performance last season is reflected in its fourth-place finish with just four points from eight games and two wins. The group’s irregularity was a main consideration in their disappointing effort.
