Opener Jake Fraser-McGurk stole the show for DC with a blistering knock of 84 runs from just 27 balls. He started aggressively, launching boundaries off the very first balls and reaching his fifty in a mere 15 deliveries, the joint-fourth fastest in IPL history. Even the experienced Jasprit Bumrah couldn’t contain him, conceding a six off a free-hit for overstepping.
Hope and Stubbs Maintain Momentum
After Fraser-McGurk’s dismissal, Shai Hope and Tristan Stubbs ensured DC kept the momentum going. Hope played a vital cameo of 41 runs with five sixes, while Stubbs finished unbeaten on a quickfire 48 off 25 balls, including some innovative scoops and reverse scoops.
