Mahmudullah

Bangladesh’s all-rounder Mahmudullah has announced his retirement from Twenty20 International cricket after the conclusion of the ongoing three-match series against India. The 38-year-old, who made his T20I debut in 2007, will continue to play One-Day Internationals.

Mahmudullah’s decision follows the retirement of his teammate Shakib Al Hasan from the T20I format earlier this year. The all-rounder cited a desire to focus on ODI cricket, especially with the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in 2025.

Reflecting on his T20I career, Mahmudullah highlighted the 2016 World T20 defeat to India as a turning point and the Nidahas Trophy final in 2018 as a memorable moment. He finished his T20I career with 2,395 runs at a strike rate of 117.74 and 40 wickets.
