Cricket Australia on Monday announced the 13-player squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan. The squad includes the return of Xavier Bartlett, Nathan Ellis, and Spencer Johnson, who have recovered from their respective injuries.
With the Border-Gavaskar Trophy looming, Test regulars have been rested. Players selected for the first Test against India will join the T20 squad after the Hobart match. Interestingly, Cricket Australia has not yet named a captain to lead the side in the absence of Mitchell Marsh.
The 13-player squad is as follows:
- Sean Abbott
- Xavier Bartlett
- Cooper Connolly
- Tim David
- Nathan Ellis
- Jake Fraser-McGurk
- Aaron Hardie
- Josh Inglis
- Spencer Johnson
- Glenn Maxwell
- Matthew Short
- Marcus Stoinis
- Adam Zampa
George Bailey, Chair of Selectors, commented on the squad:
“We’re excited to welcome back Xavier, Spencer, and Nathan. This series provides an excellent opportunity for them to showcase their skills on the international stage once again. The squad offers a blend of experience and emerging talent, and we’re confident they’ll put on a strong performance against Pakistan.”
The three-match T20I series is scheduled to begin on November 14, following the conclusion of the ODI series between the two nations. Sources and related content
