Heinrich Klaasen

South Africa has announced their squad for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Pakistan. Heinrich Klaasen will lead the side in the absence of regular captain Aiden Markram, who is currently involved in the Test series against Sri Lanka.

Due to scheduling conflicts, several key players including Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, and Tristan Stubbs are unavailable for the T20I series. However, they will return to the squad for the subsequent ODI series.

Ryan Rickelton, Kwena Maphaka, and Matthew Breetzke, who are part of the Test squad, will join the T20I squad after the conclusion of the second Test.

Anrich Nortje and Tabraiz Shamsi make a return to the T20I side after a hiatus since the ICC T20 World Cup. George Linde, who last played a T20I in 2021, has been included based on his impressive domestic performance.

Head coach Rob Walter expressed his satisfaction with the squad’s balance and experience. He highlighted the importance of George Linde’s all-round abilities and the significant boost that Nortje and Shamsi bring to the bowling attack.
